Modi started in theater as an actor, technician, and assistant director. He thrived as a lighting designer, handling production and creativity in regional serials.

In 1995, Modi established Neela Tele Films Pvt. Ltd., later known as Neela Film Productions, where he debuted with the TV show "Hum Sab Ek Hain."

Modi's notable work is the sitcom "Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah," based on Tarak Mehta's writings. Airing since 2008, it gained huge popularity.

Modi adapted Tarak Mehta's column "Duniya Ne Undha Chashma" for today's viewers. He produced diverse shows like comedy, drama, poetry series, and reality games.
