Prajakta Mali was born on August 8, 1989, in Pandharpur, India. She grew up in Pune, Maharashtra.
Prajakta studied Bharatnatyam at Pune University's Lalit Kala Kendra. Ministry of Culture awarded her a scholarship for advanced studies.
Prajakta debuted in 2011 on Star Pravah's "Suvasini." She rose to fame in 2013 as Meghna Desai in Zee Marathi's "Julun Yeti Reshimgathi."
Prajakta entered Marathi films with a child role in "Taandala - Ek Mukhavta" (2008). In 2013, she played the parallel lead Suman in "Kho-Kho."
Prajakta played Bijli in the Marathi film "Sangharsh" (2014). In 2017, she starred as Girija in "Hampi," alongside Sonalee Kulkarni.
In 2018, Prajakta had a special appearance in the song "Gomu Sangtina" in the film "Ani... Dr. Kashinath Ghanekar." She played Arpita in the film "Party" as a parallel lead.
In 2019, Prajakta played Subbulakshmi, the lead role in "Dokyala Shot." In 2021, she portrayed Karunatai Pathare, a supporting character, in "Pandu."
In 2022, Prajakta portrayed Shrimant Bhavanibai Bandal in the film "Pawankhind." She also appeared as Ratna in the web series "Raanbaazaar" in the same year.
From 2018 to 2022, Prajakta hosted the Marathi TV show "Maharashtrachi Hasyajatra" on Sony Marathi. In 2020, she hosted "Mast Maharashtra" on Zee Marathi, a travel show.
Prajakta has participated in shows like "Eka Peksha Ek - Apsara Aali" and "Indian Idol Marathi." Her versatility as an actress and contributions to Marathi film and television are well-known.
Trupti Toradmal got the role in the Adipurush film as Sarama
