Neeyat Story
Directed by Anu Menon the story of Neeyat is about a billionaire Ashish Kapoor (Ram Kapoor) who dies at his farmhouse. He was there to celebrate his birthday in a lavish way and therefore invited his nearest people to be a part of the celebration. After the luxurious party ends Ashish Kapoor was found lying motionless on the rocks. He is dead and each member attending the party has a solid reason to kill him.
To solve this murder mystery the case gets transferred to a female CBI officer Meera Raut (Vidya Balan). Is the death really a murder toned as a suicide? Who is the culprit? How will Meera solve the riddle, that’s the movie Neeyat is all about.
Is Neeyat a remake of Knives Out?
After the Neeyat trailer got released, it totally looked like an Indian replica of the film knives out but on being asked about the same that Is Neeyat a remake, the director Anu Menon thrashed the comment and said that the movie Neeyat is an original script.
She has straightaway denied her film being adapted from any existing source. After watching the film it’s very clear that the film is an undeclared remake of Knives Out, available to watch on Prime video as the story setup, execution, and screenplay match 90% of what Knives Out delivered.

Knives Out, and Glass Onion are two franchises which this film falls in similarity with. The film tries to build up a mystery with the lead investigator. It hooks you up till the last if you are a Bollywood biggie who loves to watch the executed drama as it’s cliche and sounds familiar. The film tries to build up a connection from the start and somewhere is successful in getting that trap.
The undertone and dullness in color gradation support the Neeyat story which too is dull and undertone. Vidya Balan in the role of a CBI investigator is crisp and precarious. The way the execution of the film is done is not that bad but it doesn’t clearly deserve a brownie point either.
As the film initiates further the subplots which carry the story of each character are way more engaging than the whole plot of the film. The movie is fair enough to get your time invested for sure as Vidya Balan takes the whole movie on her shoulder giving her excellent performance. Prajakta Koli is also in a major supporting role in the film and she also adds to her charm.
